Harri Hursti

Harri is an Internet visionary, entrepreneur, and world-renowned data security expert. He is a consultant and a coauthor of several studies for US state and federal governments on data security. He is known most famously for developing the “Hursti Hack” that altered the results of the voting machines used in the 2000 US Presidential elections (see HBO documentary “Hacking Democracy”). He has been an expert on electronic voting issues for officials, legislators, and policy makers in five countries. Harri received the EFFI Winston Smith Award in 2008 and the EFF Pioneer Award in 2009 for his research and work on data security and privacy.
